Andrew Newbury

Property Director

Year joined: 1988

Highlights of the role: Andrew says: “The beauty of property is that there is always something happening and the great variety provides never a dull moment.” The McMullen estate is changing all the time and the company continues to look for and buy new public houses and sites for Baroosh, the high street bar.  The ability to run a successful business is matched only by the strong commitment and professionalism of the Estates Team.

What makes McMullen’s the company of choice:  As a relatively small company we are able to make quick decisions on sites introduced to them and acquisitions remain key to the growth of the business.

Andrew completed an honours degree in Urban Land Economics in 1978 at what is now Sheffield Hallam University. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor  in 1979 and a became a Fellow in 1992. Prior to joining the company in 1988, Andrew gained valuable experience with a large insurance company in the City of London before moving on to consultancy work in London’s West End. Having dealt with a wide range of different property assets Andrew felt he was ready to develop the McMullen portfolio ready to manage and develop the McMullen portfolio.
