Golden Griffin
Golden Griffin
I'm part of the Community Pubs family!
Affectionately known by the team, and locals, as the ‘Groovy Griff’, the Griffin has been a McMullen pub since 1957.
It’s a traditional community pub that really has a special place in the hearts of the people, offering the finest locally brewed real ales with water drawn from the McMullen’s well, world beers and hospitality that has to be experienced to be believed. Enjoy our large external seating area and soak up the Great British sunshine (when you can!).
With live sports from Sky and TNT, darts, pool and more, there’s always something going on at the Griffin!
Our event space is ideal for groups, meetings, or privacy. It’s available from early until late so if you’re interested in booking us for your event, please click Private Hire to find out more and get in touch!
The team look forward to seeing you soon.

Parking at the Griffin
We’ve got parking available for our guests and use ANPR cameras to help manage the car park.
When you arrive, please take a moment to enter your vehicle registration into the tablet inside the pub. This helps us make sure genuine guests can park with us and avoids any unwanted parking charges.
If you need any help, just ask a member of the team – we’re always happy to help.
Private Hire, Birthdays and Events
Our pub is available for private hire and can hold up to 180 people. For larger events, you can also hire our outside area.
Whether you are having a business meeting, baby shower, celebration party, or wake, get in touch so we can help plan your event at the Griffin.
