We have a vacancy for an assistant Manager to join our friendly team at the Plough, Flamstead End, which is a local community pub.

As this is a wet led pub with a small element of food, cellar experience would be advantageous but full training can be given.

Chef, Bulls Head

Location: Bulls Head, Turnford

We require an experienced chef to join our team at the Bulls Head Turnford.

The Bulls Head operates the company’s very popular ‘Chicken and Grill’ menu.
The Bulls Head menu offers good value for money in modern surroundings.

Our restaurant seats 56 and the conservatory seats an additional 20; customers are able to also eat in the bar area and outside on our decked patio. We average around 1000 food covers per week.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a ‘hands on’ approach, be motivated, able to work as a teams as well as on their own, be able to maintain the high standards and controls in place to conform to food hygiene and health and safety requirements.

The post is a live out position offering a very competitive hourly rate of pay dependent on experience.

Kitchen Manager, Mops and Brooms

Location: Mops and Brooms, Borehamwood

The Mops and Brooms (2011 Finalist of the McMullen Kitchen of the Year Competition) requires a Kitchen Manager to join our team.

The Mops and Brooms operates the company’s McFayre menu and is set in a beautiful country location but only 20 minutes train journey from London.

Owing to our location and large garden, on warm sunny days we are extremely busy so experience in handling high volume is imperative.

The successful applicant will have kitchen experience; however management experience is preferred but not essential.

The right candidate will have a solid history working within a commercial kitchen and be able to work both independently and within a team.

Main duties include general running of the kitchen, ordering, stock takes and be able to put in place controls to conform to food hygiene and health and safety requirements including all relevant paperwork.

The post is a live in / out position offering a competitive remuneration dependent upon experience.

Front of House, Bulls Head

The Bulls Head Turnford is one of McMullen’s very popular Chicken and Grill concepts.

We are currently looking for someone to join our front of house team. We have a full time vacancy or 2 part time staff.

The job role will include working in both the restaurant and bar. Applicants must be able to work weekends and be available for split shifts. Experience is essential.

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and motivated people who are able to work well in a team and also on their own.

Manager, Sun Inn

Location: Sun Inn, Nazeing

Customer Profile
A great mix of old and young, from Nazeing, neighbouring Harlow and surrounding towns and villages, there is a huge opportunity to grow sales with this business during the winter and in the evenings.

Management Profile
Either a single or FOH / Kitchen couple will be considered. I must stress that the business has huge potential for a motivated and talented Manager/s. You will need to be extremely professional in peak shift execution and will have to demonstrate the ability to operate a seasonal site (sales drop as low as 5k net in the winter and rise to over 20k net in the summer) and manage the difficulties that presents in terms of staffing. Experience in managing a business with a large outdoor area will be key.

Having emphasised the importance of maximising summer sales, the successful applicant will also need to grow covers during the quiet months with innovative sales building ideas and the composition of a well trained and motivated team.

Manager’s Accommodation
The small but well appointed flat consists of two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. In addition, the pub has one self-contained staff flat.

We require an experienced full-time chef (40-50 hours per week) to join our team at the Bull Broxbourne.

The Bull operates the company’s McFayre’ menu.
