A traditional three-bar inn with true pub values run for the modern age, the Hare is a true country local in the heart of Harlow. A stone’s throw from the centre right opposite Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Hare has been a Mac’s pub since 1897.
Pop in for a swift bite to eat from our great value, extensive menu, revitalise yourself with our locally brewed real ales, cocktails and popular wines. Perfect!
Step away from the madding crowds and relax. Pool and darts are available in the public bar, while the Snug’s got more privacy, and the lounge is dedicated to dining in truly relaxing surroundings. You can even dine alfresco on the patio, weather permitting.
In line with our licence conditions, children are welcome in the public bar until 8:30pm and in the Lounge bar until 10pm as long as they are with a parent/guardian.
Due to the listed building’s shape, wheelchair access and accessible toilet are available in the smaller bar only.

Parking at the Hare
We’ve got parking available for our guests and use ANPR cameras to help manage the car park.
When you arrive, please take a moment to enter your vehicle registration into the tablet inside the pub. This helps us make sure genuine guests can park with us and avoids any unwanted parking charges.
If you need any help, just ask a member of the team – we’re always happy to help.
Private Hire, Birthdays and Events
Our lovely function space is available for private hire. We cater for formal dining events, buffets, drinks and nibbles or just drinks, whatever you prefer.
We can seat up to 20 guests for dining in the Snug. Larger events can also reserve the extension allowing for up to 50 guests. Our gazebo is available and can hold up to 16 guests, though it is weather dependent.
