Highlights of the role:  

Alex believes that the great thing about being the Finance Director is being involved in every aspect of the company, which means the role is varied and continuously challenging. He also expresses enjoyment in having a fantastic team that makes life a lot easier.

What makes McMullen’s the company of choice:  

Alex is part of the sixth generation of McMullens. He feels very fortunate to be able to work in a family company that is focused on the long term and is passionate about the beers it brews and providing the best possible offering to its customers  

Life prior to McMullen’s:  

In school and university holidays Alex worked in a number of McMullen pubs. After leaving Exeter University with a degree in Business and Management he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he qualified as a chartered accountant. During this time Alex worked with companies in a variety of industries and with the most challenging period being helping companies through the financial crisis. After PricewaterhouseCoopers Alex spent time at EAT and then Gourmet Burger Kitchen gaining great industry experience and a few ideas to bring to McMullen’s.
