What are the highlights of your role:
Being able to help people progress their career through the Company from Team Member through to Assistant Manager then Manager. She loves seeing people developing themselves and how their confidence grows as they learn.
What makes McMullen’s your company of choice:
McMullen’s has provided Amanda with a huge opportunity at an early point in her career to be an Area Manager. She found the Company to be serious about its commitment to people, service and ultimately the guest’s satisfaction. As result Amanda jumped at the opportunity to work for McMullen’s again in a people role. She believes McMullen’s commitment is still going strong and matches her personal beliefs that great people are the driving force of a good company.
How you started your career prior to McMullen’s:
Amanda started working in hotels part time at an early age which gave her an interest in the hospitality industry. She went on to do a Degree in Hospitality Management, working in bars and catering jobs whilst at University. Following this she gained a role with All Bar One as an Assistant Manager, then General Manager which taught Amanda how to run a good business. From here Amanda met Peter Furness-Smith who offered her the chance to join McMullen’s as an Area Manager for the Baroosh businesses. After gaining further management and operational experience for both Mitchells and Butlers and Greene King she is now back to the family at McMullen’s.
What is your favourite menu item:
Her new favourite dish is the Quorn Thai Green Curry from the Baroosh food menu. Amanda is not a vegetarian but this dish rocks!
