Highlights of the role: Ed looks after 14 Chicken & Grill Pubs. Running pubs is easy, the hard part is running them well – says Ed. This can only be achieved with great people who have a passion and belief in the quality of the food and drink served.  One of the highlights of his role is seeing the development of his people.

Life prior to McMullen’s: Ed’s passion for hospitality started at an early age (fifteen) working in his family business. He went on to Cheltenham Catering College, where he spent two years training to be a chef. After several years gaining experience in hotel kitchens, Ed started in the pub trade taking a small tenancy. After five good years and the birth of his daughter, Ed decided to further his career and train with Punch/Spirit Pub Company. For 10 years, Ed enrolled first as General Manager and then moved into the Area Manager role looking after brands such as John Barras and 2-4-1, family dining. Ed joined McMullen's after a brief spell with Marston's.

Favourite menu item: Fresh rotisserie chicken.. with a jacket potato as I need to watch my waist line these days!
