Highlights of the role:  

It’s so important that we recruit the right people into the business, and everyone has the opportunity to develop and progress within our company.  Emma promotes that delivering training sessions is really rewarding; and watching people develop in their roles is really satisfying.  She believes it’s particularly special when a group of trainees complete one of our training programmes.

Emma states that Mac’s really cares about their people. You are not a number; you are treated like individuals who make a real difference to the business.  Everyone is passionate about what they do and everyone is approachable & supportive when you need it.

Life prior to McMullen’s:  

After graduating from Lancaster University, Emma worked at Tesco for 12 years.  She became a Training Manager in Stores and then took a role managing Graduate Recruitment nationwide, before jumping ship to work in the Commercial department as a Buying Manager.  Buying trips to Hong Kong & China were a highlight! Emma took Voluntary Redundancy after the birth of her son, as the time to move on felt right, and after joining McMullen’s she hasn’t looked back.

Favourite menu item:

The Cottage Pie with a cheesy topping at the Salisbury Arms is just delicious ; washed down with a glass of Merlot! Heaven!
