Highlights of your role:
Fergus is the main Board Director for Tenanted Pubs and Production (Brewing, Transport, Warehousing and Cellar Services) as well as wholesalers, off trade and free trade. The best part of the job is helping with the brewing of McMullen’s own cask ale, then seeing it being enjoyed in the pubs and bars.
What makes McMullen’s the company of choice:
Fergus is part of the sixth generation of McMullen’s to commit to the business. He passionately believes that direct family engagement is integral to the culture and sustainability of the Company as one of the last heritage family brewing companies.
Life prior to McMullen’s:
Fergus worked for four years in London in the commercial and domestic property markets, before joining H.P. Bulmer's Sales and Marketing Department in 1982. He remained there until 1984, when Fergus joined McMullen & Sons running the Free Trade division and then in 1988, after qualifying at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, he assumed responsibility for Sales and Marketing. In 1991 Fergus joined the McMullen Board and is now a proud member of The 25 Year Club.
Favourite menu item:
Fergus is passionate about all McMullen cask ales especially AK, which, when served correctly, is one of the best session pints in the World!
