Highlights of the role: For Mike, managing a diverse and varied estate, being able to develop team members into and onto General Managers and being part of, and sharing in, the success of my Management team, make his role interesting and more importantly, rewarding.

Life prior to McMullen’s: On leaving school Mike joined Debenhams as a Trainee Department Store Manager for the Food Halls and studied at the College of Retail Trades and Food Technology in London. He entered the brewery trade with Grand Met in 1980, operating both as an Area Manager and Audit Manager with Chef and Brewer as well as Clifton Inns in London. In 1992 Mike joined McMullen’s as Area Manager and has not looked back since.
Favourite menu item: A seriously good lamb shank or shellfish dish from the chef’s recommendation specials board.
