Neil Meiners

Head of Compliance & Audit

Year Joined: 2016

Highlights of the role:

Neil will be taking what was the previous Stocktaking Managers role forward. That will involve introducing new Ways of Working, which will include reviewing Compliance of Process’s such as, Wet & Dry Stocks, Energy, Fire Safety and Health & Safety. By undertaking these this will give a more Holistic overview of the business and how it is run.

He will also be looking at more involvement with Food Stocktakes, by seeing how we can improve within this area.

What makes McMullen’s the company of choice:

Within the Brewing & Hospitality Industry, the company has always had a recognised and well regarded reputation. Therefore when the potential opportunity presented itself to come and join, "it was a no brainer!"

Life prior to McMullen’s:

Neil's parents were Tenants for Charringtons brewery, where as a child, teenager and young adult he worked for them. Neil later decided that he'd rather be “the other side of the bar” and became a Customs & Excise Officer. After completing 3 years with them, he moved on due to slow promotional prospects.

Neil then went to Charringtons, Bass Taverns, Six Continents, and finally finished at Mitchells & Butlers. All the same Company, but with various name changes. Working with these he had numerous job roles that allowed him to move about the Company, the Brands and at times the Country, Europe and the Channel Islands.

Favourite menu item:

Seasonal Ale Bootwarmer, Country & Hertford Castle for liquid refreshment.

Burgers or pizza as it’s easy to eat ‘on the move’ especially with The Jolly Postie's take away service. Given time he believes his gastronomic experience will widen with the company!
