Mac's Raises £4k for Hertfordshire Hospices

Volunteers from McMullen & Sons’ pubs across the home counties and further have been breaking a sweat to raise much needed funds for 8 Hertfordshire based hospices, 2 of which exclusively support children.

The team are proud to support the Hertfordshire Community Foundation during possibly the most difficult time of our generation. All hospices have had their revenue streams dramatically reduced as about 70-75% of their usual funding comes from retail outlets which are currently closed like us.

Within 24 hours of the appeal going live, together the team smashed our original target of £1,000. Since then, they have have picked up their running shoes, dusted off bikes and gone outdoors in a bid to ‘move 5k, donate £5’.

Our volunteer Kitchen Development team at Head Office have also had a hand in raising funds through their ‘Bakes in a Box’ campaign. With the shortage in flour and other baking goods in shops we’ve teamed up with our suppliers to make easy, pre weighed out baking recipes for you to pick up from the brewery and make at home. Recipes vary from Chocolate Brownie to Lemon Drizzle, Coffee & Walnut cake to Spiced Beer cake. £1 from every box sold is going to support the Hertfordshire Community Foundation.

Thanks to our teams efforts, and the support from our kind hearted guests we’ve managed to raise over £4k (as of 21.05.20) with aims to raise even more in the coming weeks.

All funds will be topped up by the Mac’s Hart Trust, which will add £1 for every £10 raised. For more information about the Mac’s Hart Trust, see here.
