Horse & Guardsman Opens in London

We are very proud to announce the opening of our most recent acquisition in central London. The building, moments from Trafalgar Square heading towards Whitehall, is one of our largest investments and overall projects to date following from the refurbishment of the Old Bank of England in Fleet Street.

The Horse & Guardsman opens its doors to the public on November 11th 2021. The pub is named to reflect and honour the Queen’s Guard who are stationed directly behind the building.

“We have made a significant investment in the H&G to create a superb new London pub with quality finishes and an innovative and individual design. I am extremely proud of our development and design team who worked tirelessly and overcame a lot of property challenges to create a pub that will stand the test of time” said Jenny Strathern, Property Director.

A smart, wood-panelled traditional London pub in the West End, previously the premises of bankers Messrs Cocks Biddulph & co. The pub’s interior mirrors that of a Victorian build with high ceilings, arched windows and plenty of space to enjoy a traditional pint in the heart of London.

“We are delighted to see this wonderful London pub reimagined to reflect the significance of its neighbourhood. The Horse and Guardsman will bring the best of London pubs to the area and provide career and learning opportunity for the 55 new recruits to grow and thrive in our ever-growing London pubs estate” says Heydon Mizon, Joint Managing Director.

Expect a relaxed atmosphere bursting with character as the team create a range of contemporary and traditional cocktails with the freshest ingredients, serve bespoke seasonal dishes, and boast attentive service. Take a step away from the hustle and bustle of the city and give yourself a truly quintessentially British pub experience.
