The chilly days and nights are coming to an end; Spring has most definitely sprung. It is time to celebrate and catch up with the whole family this Easter. Join us in finding out what’s on this Easter in Hertfordshire and Essex as we list the best events at your favourite McMullen locals this year!
A peaceful oasis in a busy part of Broxbourne, The Bull is bound to be a sanctuary of fun family moments this Easter with an Egg Hunt on Saturday 15th April between 12pm-4pm. Whilst hunting, the bar will be holding a jar full of chocolate eggs. The game is simple, correctly guess the amount of eggs inside and win them all! All proceeds from the day will be going to Keech Hospice Care.
If live music is your tipple then the Royal Oak is where you want to be all weekend this Easter. With live music on Good Friday from Dave Brewster, followed by Greg Dylan through the day on Easter Monday 17th April you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy a famous Royal Oak Roast, as well as a cheeky drink and a dance.
Fingers crossed that the good weather comes to make the weekend complete as The Red Lion will be utilising its fantastic beer garden all weekend long. Eggspect competitions, egg hunts as well as glorious seasonal food and stunning roast dinners with home-made Yorkshire puds.
Making the most of the long weekend, The Orange Tree in Hitchin is looking to entertain all ages with Easter Egg Hunts as well as Arts & Crafts all day long until 6pm on Easter Monday. Topping this off with a Giant Easter Egg Raffle during the day with proceeds going directly to the Letchworth GC & Baldock Lions Rotary Club for local charities. Fingers crossed this Orange Tree will be sprouting some Chocolate Oranges!
Catch up with the parents this Easter over a decadent Afternoon Tea at one of Hertford’s iconic buildings. With the choice of Classic or Fizzy Afternoon Tea with the addition of Prosecco make the most of the all important family moments.
A real family pub, The Vine at Waltham Cross will be anticipating a busy Easter Weekend as they get the Bouncy Castle up and ready to burn off those Easter Egg calories! From Good Friday to Easter Monday all day long The Vine will be holding some hidden eggs for the kids to hunt around the pub itself. They will also be in with the chance of winning a Giant Easter Egg with a fantastic colouring competition. All proceeds going directly to St Clare’s Hospice.
The Angels, Hitchin
The perfect modern pub in the heart of Hitchin, The Angels is suited for all family occasions as standard with beautiful decor as well as internal and external play areas for the little ones. All through the Easter holiday The Angels is your one stop location for free family entertainment with Magic Man on Wednesday 12th April from 10am performing his "Howdy Doodat" magic as well as balloon modelling. There will also be a Charity Coffee Morning & Raffle on Bank Holiday Monday 17th April between 10am-12pm, all money raised through the fantastic event will go directly to a local charity who adapt the gardens and bedrooms of children with disabilities.
