This delightfully classic pub has been a McMullen pub since the company bought the Hope Brewery back in 1920.
A perfectly friendly local, retaining the traditionally separate public and lounge bars, in each of which you can be sure of the same warm welcome. There’s also a secluded garden with covered area and a TV should you wish to enjoy the footy and a perfectly conditioned pint in the British sunshine.
With well-kept real ales a speciality of the house, our favourite traditional pub classics, sharing plates to tuck into while tuned into live action sport (we have Sky Sports and TNT Sports too!), darts, live music, karaoke and of course our sell-out Sunday roasts, The Angel is just the right blend of modern entertainment with good old-fashioned pub values.

Our lovely function space is available for private hire. We cater for formal dining events, buffets, drinks and nibbles or just drinks, whatever you prefer.
We can seat up to 35 guests for dining, plus another 35 standing guests in our Saloon Bar.
