A McMullen pub since 2011 – enjoy seriously relaxed dining on the outskirts of Stortford!
One of the “18 real ale pubs you need to visit in Hertfordshire” serving local McMullen ale, the Coach & Horses is a beautiful country pub full of character, cosy compartmental dining areas, roaring fire, and sun worshipping conservatory with a spacious secret garden at the rear.
Our food is lovingly created by our chefs with a focus on British heritage and seasonal ingredients. We serve glorious food with Chef-selected fresh daily additions, aspirational wines, McMullen cask ale and world lagers, and a range of classic cocktails. Sunday Roasts are a pinnacle at the Coach, with delicious roasted meats, huge homemade Yorkshire puddings, and all the trimmings.

Valentine's at the Coach & Horses
This Valentine’s Day, make it a night to remember with our show-stopping 18oz Côte de Bœuf, perfect for sharing and packed with indulgent flavours. Available 12th-14th February, it’s served with: confit garlic butter, Koffmann’s skin-on fries, crispy onions, watercress, beef dripping & beer gravy. A true Valentine’s centrepiece for steak lovers.
Complete the occasion with our Cupid’s Cosmo, a perfectly pink cocktail available from 1st February – ideal for raising a glass to love.

Private Hire, Birthdays and Events
Our lovely function space is available for private hire. We cater for formal dining events, buffets, drinks and nibbles, whatever you prefer. We can seat up to 30 guests for dining, or 40 for less formal events.
