A pub since 1844, and a Mac’s house since 2025, welcome to the Rose Inn!
The first Rose in Wokingham was on the north side of the Market Place, where it has been an inn since the 17th century. It transferred to the present location in 1844, which started as two 15th century houses. Originally called the Rose Inn, then the Rose Hotel, and then Ye Olde Rose Inne after WWII, the Rose Inn reverted to its original name in 2021.
Located in the heart of Wokingham, the Rose Inn is a welcoming pub to the local community. Serving fresh food menu inspired by the Mediterranean, dishes include steaks and fish cooked in our charcoal-fuelled grill, as well as authentic Neapolitan pizzas cooked in our wood-fired oven, pasta dishes and home comforts. Families are most welcome, with a delicious children’s menu that has something to please everyone. Our comfortable bar area serves an extensive and varied drinks menu, including cocktails, ales and a great range of wine.

Valentine's at the Rose
This Valentine’s Day, make it a night to remember with our show-stopping 18oz Côte de Bœuf, perfect for sharing and packed with indulgent flavours. Available 12th-14th February, it’s served with: confit garlic butter, Koffmann’s skin-on fries, crispy onions, watercress, beef dripping & beer gravy. A true Valentine’s centrepiece for steak lovers.

Climb our impressive timber staircase to the first floor of The Rose Inn and discover The Oakroom with large bay windows overlooks the market place.
This gorgeous space offers a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive where you are greeted by a vibrant décor and chic environment. The Oakroom is as inviting for coffee and papers in the morning as it is for a change of scenery to work from in the day. As day turns to night, our beautiful lounge is a fabulous setting for cocktails with the girls in the evening or a date night with that special someone.
