We haven't brewed a stout in this style for over 90 years, our brewers have gone back through the recipe books to find this Oatmalt Stout recipe from 1930's and brought it back to life.

This ale has been brewed with a strain of Stout Years perfect for highlighting rich malt characters. We've used traditional English hop variety - progress, which contributes a mild hop bitterness allowing the roasted malt flavour to dominate.

Expect a smooth and creamy taste with a strong. bitter, dark chocolate mid-taste. this stout has considerably more aroma and flavour than most mainstream stouts. This is due to the brewing and serving style, being warmer and un-nitrified.
